Pia Törnell

Photobucket
Photobucket Pia Tornell [born 1963] here we see two photos of the designs this Swedish ceramist and metalwork designer created for the Rorstrand company. Modern, no even contemporary, her plates show fresh graphics and colors. Her Cirrus Vase is an exploration of form in space which becomes a startling decorative object. Imagine it as a large -scale water fountain?

an indoor/outdoor GARDEN

Photobucket

It is widely known that a garden not only keeps the idle hand busy - but provides a setting for the jolliest of social occasions. When living in an urban environment, one needs to create a secluded haven out of their home. A garden provides just that - with even more impact when it provides views from your windows and cuttings for floral arrangements.

SANDALWOOD

Photobucket

Sandalwood is one of the traditional materials used for malas. A soothing, peaceful and fragrant wood it is said to attract positive subtle vibrations, bring clear perception, promote tranquility and a positive frame of mind.

Sandalwood is an antidepressant, antiseptic, insecticidal, and sedative wood. It can assist in the healing of cells and is used to assist the immune system in any healing process or to prevent illness.

It is coincidentally my fragrance (above left) and what my healer prescribed for some specific health solutions. Forever a fan of this beloved wood.

The random bouts of productivity albeit fruitful, are ultimately unfulfilled due to their lack of consistency - and NO ROUTINE.

Riding your bike to work presents a plethora of problem-solving, mostly in the wardrobe department. Clothing has to be a delicate balance of form-fitted, comfortable, lightweight & warm. This is a pretty easy solve - but the vessel of carrying your personal items becomes the largest challenge. Mind you a melange of leather & cloth bags are certainly to be owned, but considering a long bike ride they have to be just so. A BACKPACK is unfortunately the most logical solution.

When considering a backpack, one conjures up images of a dingy high school hallway with lockers and stained Jansport backpacks, some with sharpie doodles, others with a patch here & there. A second vignette is that of a European traveller with heavy duty straps, vinyl, pockets; a bag of an adventurer. The bag desired for day-to-day, and office commuting should be medium-sized, preferably leather, & undoubtedly yours.
